About Us
Creating art was a lifelong endeavor, in the 70's I lived on Beacon Hill and did many pen and ink drawing of the cityscape. The Prudential, John Hancock, the Esplanade, the Public Gardens, Charles River and Beacon Hill were the subjects of my drawings. I even sold one to the Harvard Gardens for their menu cover (100 hours work and $50)! Not very lucrative as most artist will tell you. I pursued a business degree at Bentley College (now Unviersity) and went on to have a successful career in healthcare IT. In 2009 I retired and opened a gallery in my hometown of North Reading (The Gallery on North and Main) and after a dismal summer with very little sales and a whole lot of effort I then opened another one in Rockport on Bearskin Neck (hence the website "TheGalleryonBeasrskinNeck". This one got foot traffic but sales never progressed to the point of break even. Although I did do some Imaging Consulting to help augment my shop's income to allow me to stay open long enough to realize that I was losing my shirt and would soon lose my pants as well. I opened a studio/gallery in the home where we moved in spring 2018, having to sell the Rockport place to satisfy Uncle Sam's never ending need for money. Vermont is where I now live, work and play! Down to two kids in college (number 1 has become a CPA), I am working exclusively on my art as my sole means of income. I also started a Master's of Science in Health Information Technology degree which I am on schedule to graduate from this winter, I am still getting down to Cape Ann routinely (and to Endicott College in Beverly) and into Boston for shows and events, primarily sponsored by the Artists Group of Charlestown. But evenings and weekends I am around Vermont and willing to open my home to prospective clients who may have an interest in my work. My girlfriend does Tarot readings in as well, so please come buy (pun intended), browse my work and have a reading done, who knows what the future holds (but the cards never lie)!
